Health and Safety Bursaries are grants for Film or TV professionals to spend on a pre–selected range of courses covering key skills the industry is looking for in its workforce.
All of the courses approved for the Health & Safety bursary scheme fall under the priority areas defined in the Health and Safety Framework that has been developed by Skillset in conjunction with representatives from throughout the TV and film industries. This framework is the result of industry-wide agreement on what are the priority occupations and skill areas for health and safety training. The Health and Safety Framework encompasses the Production Safety Passport programme, revised National Occupation Standards, and relevant Qualifications and Apprenticeships. More details
ITF is running a number of courses over the next few weeks and offer discounts for freelancers. Some also qualify for Skillset bursaries. LMT – Location Manager Training course started its first year in January 2007 when sixteen aspiring location assistants enrolled on the pilot programme. The LMT course is a blended learning programme with a mixture of classroom, practical, mentor supported and online training. See Film London
The deadline has now passed for all applications for Film London location management courses and the course is now closed for any further queries.
This is a unique course, with intensive workshops and seminars taking place over 6 weekends from March - July 2010. Students will work their way through set assignments and homework, working closely with a working locations manager, acting as mentor. See Film London for full details and application forms.
