Location Managers Worldwide need to combine forces, share information and become recognised in the industry for the invaluable role that we play. Let's face it, we all experience the same problems and issues whatever country we are working in, so sharing knowledge can only strengthen our cause.
If you are a location manager or Guild reading this from another country, we'd love to hear from you.
Three highly regarded location managers, David Broder, Manus Home and Jane Soans have formed an International Committee. Please email us for further information.

AFCI Locations Trade Show 2009 |
The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) Locations Trade Show, held in Santa Monica, California, had its most successful exhibition event on record and for the first time a representative from The Guild was there.
Our Chairman, Mick Ratman, attended the three day event with the purpose of raising our profile internationally and to meet other film commissions from the UK and abroad. Virtually every UK Regional Screen Agency was there as well as Film London and the UK Film Council.
Mick also had meetings with the Location Managers Guild of America (LMGA) to discuss the potential of us working together and forming an International Location Managers Association. We hope that Guilds from other countries will join forces.
See the Spring 2008 edition of Locate for pictures and story.
We aim to work together on many aspects of the industry especially lobbying Internet Movie Database (IMDb) for the role of the location manager to be better recognised. For some years now it has been a regular source of complaint that the profile of location managers within IMDb and in the credits is insufficient and misleading. Read Manus Home's thoughts on the subject.
The Guild of Location Managers and the LMGA are both keen to further collaborations. The LMGA published an interview with Chairman of The Guild of Location Managers, Mick Ratman and Chairman of the LMGA International Committee, Kent Matsuoka.
