Membership is for the professional location manager working within the film, television and stills industries. Applicants should have location management as their main profession and have a long term committment to the industry. All applicants should demonstrate an intention to work within the craft of location management and a committment to work within the Film London Code of Practice.

Currently membership rates are as follows:

Full membership is for applicants who have been working within the location department in the UK with a minimum of three years credits. An application form (.pdf) for Full Membership is available for download here. Your current CV with dates of productions must be enclosed with your application.

Associate membership is open to those who have been working in the UK for less than three years as a location manager, assistant location manager, unit manager or location scout with the intention to pursue a long term career within the location department. An application form (.pdf) for Associate Membership is available for download here. Your current CV with dates of productions must be enclosed with your application.
Benefits of Membership
Friends category of membership is open to location managers who have retired or decided to leave the life of locations, but would like to retain contact and keep in touch with the industry. A nominal membership fee of £20 is payable annually, but Friends do not receive a membership card. Please email us if you have retired your cones and hung up your hi-viz and would like to support as a Friend.
Film London's Availability Service for Location Managers (ASLM) is an exclusive annual membership scheme for location managers, scouts, assistant location managers; unit managers and location assistants. A discounted rate is offered to members of the Guild. See Film London for more information.
Information for becoming an Affiliate or Sponsor

Affiliate membership is available to companies or organisations which are associated with or allied to the location finding and management industry. A minimum trading period of twelve months is requested for all applicants. An application form (PDF) for Affiliate Membership is available for download here.
Sponsorship is available to all who wish to support the Guild of Location Managers and the process of filming on location. The company should be well established, have a working relationship with the film industry supplying a service or location. Prospective sponsors should download the application form here. Please note that acceptance as a member is not automatic. All applications are passed by the committee for approval. The decision of the committee is final.
All applications for Full and Associate membership must be accompanied by a current CV.
Subscriptions for membership are issued annually and remittance should be sent within 30 days of issue.
