The Churches Conservation Trust is the national charity protecting historic churches at risk. They say..."Our estate is the largest single collection of historic churches in the country ranging from the virtually untouched medieval in idyllic rural settings to ornately impressive Victorian in town centres". Their churches have already been used for a variety of films including Maid of Honour and Wolfman. For further location information see their website and see this pdf for more filming information.
Our grateful thanks go to Rikke Dakin who has been our Locate editor and creator for some years now. Rikke is now a proud mum and has her own junior unit manager to train up. Locate will take a well earned break for a while and will return in a new e-format in the future. To read the back editions please go to the Locate page within the Members Only area.

Guild Affiliates, Hedsor House, have been in touch to let us know that they have been working hard on the house and grounds. They have re-furbished a number of rooms, re-instated the commercial kitchens, put in new bathrooms and enlarged the ballroom, amongst other things. The surrounding parkland has also had huge improvements. The parkland has oak and beech woodland, rhododendron walks, a lake with an island and is grazed by Highland cattle. Hedsor House is set in 100 acres of parkland on a private and secluded estate in Buckinghamshire. There are 120 car park spaces, production offices and has 3 phase power on all floors.

The SEA LIFE London Aquarium is home to one of Europe’s largest collections of global marine life and the jewel in the crown of the 28 SEA LIFE attractions in the UK and Europe. Situated in the heart of London along the South Bank, the experience takes visitors on an immersive and interactive journey along the Great Oceanic Conveyor.
Along the journey, a stunning glass tunnel walkway offers guests an unforgettable experience by strolling underneath a tropical ocean which exhibits manta rays and giant green turtles…along with various other tropical species. The true highlight however, commences as guests complete their journey in the deeper darker zone of the Pacific Ocean - take a walk on the wild side and watch 10 species of shark swim beneath your feet from a suspended glass platform.
As a high profile visitor attraction and, the SEA LIFE London Aquarium receives a lot of media interest. Since opening, the press team and aquarists have worked with literally hundreds of film crews and photographers on projects ranging from fashion shoots and news items to TV ads and international feature films.
Please contact the London Aquarium press office for a filming application form on 0870 420 8911 or email here

London film office show off their areaKaren and Andrew from Southwark Film Office teamed up with Film London to showcase some of the great locations in their borough. Visit London was the starting point with the panoramic views across the River Thames. The trip was concluded with a tour of Millwall and to top it all, our very own Brian, got a hug from the Lion. Film London wrote the story.

On a warm and sunny July evening, a group of location managers from the Guild enjoyed drinks and nibbles on the terrace at RIBA. After taking in the unusual view of the London rooftops, we were given a tour of the many and varied spaces available at the art deco headquarters. Art and craft are everywhere, from the decorated bronze front doors and sculpted figures either side of them to the etched glass screens and wooden paneling that can be found throughout the interior. Thanks to our host Sally, of the venues team, who looked after us so well and gave up her evening to show us the building. RIBA filming info.
