SILE - Seville International Locations Expo
SEVILLE INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS EXPO(SILE) was officially presented on the Day of Andalusia held at the San Sebastian Film Festival on 23rd September 2008.
SILE is the first major location trade fair to be held in Europe. SEVILLE INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS EXPO will be a meeting point for exhibitors, offering and promoting their film locations (for full-length feature and short films, video clips, advertising, etc.), producers and location managers.
During the locations exhibition, there will be a parallel, complementary trade fair for film industry-related service providers as well as for Spanish and international public agencies specialising in the promotion of locations.
We are firmly convinced that this initiative will be warmly welcomed on the international markets for a number of good reasons: the increasing degree of specialisation in the field of film shooting; the recent and rapid creation of Film Commissions and Film Offices worldwide, especially in Europe and Spain; the lack of an event of this kind in Europe; and the existence of a clear niche to cover the needs of this phenomenon in expansion, i.e. locations markets, new shooting strategies and requirements.
The venue will be located in Seville's old quarter, in the Prado San Sebastián Park, and coincide with Seville European Film Festival, thus fostering business contacts beyond the scope of locations including the whole audiovisual industry. Seville International Locations Expo will take place on 5th-8th November, 2009.
We are very pleased with the initial positive response that exhibitors, location managers and producers have given to the proposal to take part in SILE09. Additionally, we are focusing in attracting film producers to attend this event and will spare no means to ensure their participation.
As we all know, selling film locations is a great challenge, which is partly due to the fact that there is no specific market for locations, location managers and producers to do business.
